FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is based on needing to earn $30/hour, but also accounting for my desire to make quality Yoga instruction and fitness training affordable for all, so I am willing to negotiate to find a good fit!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll start with an introductory questionnaire. The information is held in strictest confidence and used for assessment purposes only, to help us decide if I am the right teacher for you. This may be done in-person, over the phone, or via email. Our first session will involve going back over your needs and goals, reviewing expectations, and detailing our plan. We'll have a simple practice or training session to evaluate where you are and how best to proceed. Before the next session, I'll reevaluate our starting point, our plan, and communicate that with you. Then, it's all practice!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies from Elizabethtown College (2010) and a Master's Degree in Contemplative Religious Studies with a concentration in Sanskrit from Naropa University (2013). I received my first Yoga teacher certificate from the 3-month course at the University of Hyderabad (2009), finishing out with top marks and high honors in both theory and practice. I received my 200-hour training from Rishikesh Yog Peeth (2012); I've since upgraded Yoga Alliance registration to E-RYT 200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher). I hold certification in Kids' Yoga from Kidding Around Yoga (2013) as well as the RCYT designation through Yoga Alliance. I have also received training in Broga Yoga (2015), Core Strength Vinyasa (2015), Thai Yoga (Level 1, 2012; Level 2, 2013), and Insanity (2014).
