- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
This goes out to those eager individuals ready to take the next step and hire a Personal Trainer/Coach. Not all trainers are created equal. Before you pull out your wallet and swipe that credit card here are a few qualifications you should look for and questions you should ask. Remember you are paying good money for this service so you want to find the best trainer that fits you. *EDUCATION Do they have... -a basic understanding of nutrition? -a basic understanding of the human anatomy? -the ability to develop a safe, effective, individualized nutrition and fitness program? *EXPERIENCE -What is their background as a trainer/coach? -Research that backs up their philosophy Ex. Can they give you valid sources for the reasons they do what they do from a nutrition angle and/or fitness angle. -Does their program have sustainability? Ex. Can a person stick to this day in and day out in "real life"? -Talk to past clients. Do they agree that the program is sustainable? -Will the training be one-on-one or a group setting? (Do I want individualized, one-on-one focused training? If group training, how many in a group?)
