FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
LOCAL MOVING is based on a per man per hour rate. We use our surveying tools to gather the information needed to give a ballpark estimate as to how many men and hours we anticipate the move to take. Customers should be aware that we charge a small TRIP or TRAVEL CHARGE with each local move. This charge accounts for the time required for our movers to arrive at our warehouse, pick up their designated truck, gather materials, paperwork, all the necessary equipment pertaining to your job, and then travel to and from your home before and after your job starts and ends. LONG DISTANCE moving is based on the weight of the shipment and the distance traveled. We do not charge a trip or travel fee with this type of move but we are required to weigh the truck while empty and again after we have loaded your shipment to determine the charges. There are several different types of estimates we can provide for long distance moving so please ask about them! PIANO MOVES are based on a flat rate for the type of piano that is being moved. We move spinets, uprights, baby grands, grand pianos, concert grands, digital uprights, organs, you name it we have moved it. There may be additional charges associated with stairs, distance traveled, as well as loading and unloading conditions. Feel free to ask about our STORAGE and WAREHOUSING SERVICES at our climate controlled facility. There are multiple different ways to price these services based on what is being stored and for how long. We are a full service moving company and can also perform PACKING SERVICES. We will safely package your belonging into boxes prior to them being moved if customers would like. The charges for this can vary depending on the type of move being performs. We can either pack by the weight of the shipment or pack on a per carton basis. For customers who wish to do their own packing, WE SELL BOXES, TAPE, and MOVING SUPPLIES.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First things first, customers want to know HOW MUCH and HOW LONG. In order to answer these basic questions we need to gauge the scope of work to be performed. We do this by having the customer choose one of two types of survey methods. The customer can choose between an IN-HOME SURVEY where we will send a company representative physically out to the customers location to walk through and record the details of their move, or the customer is welcome to fill out their own ONLINE WEB FORM with their move details. Generally we recommend online web forms filled out by the customers for some of the smaller moves and we like to send out an actual company representative to record the move details for the larger moves. Ultimately it's whichever the customer prefers though.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a second generation lifelong mover. I grew up in the sleeper of a straight truck traveling the country with my father moving families from coast to coast during summer breaks from school as a kid. My entire family is in the industry in some way, shape, or form. Fresh out of school I began sub-contracting for some of the major corporate relocation companies. I operated as an independent contractor for ten years before incorporating on my own six years ago. In this industry 'experience is everything' in more ways than one. Our years of professional moving experience is what allows us to provide our customers with the best possible moving experience!
