FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My introductory quote is an estimate based only on my first read of the time or scope of the project. It should be seen as a point of negotiation until we settle on an agreeable amount once the truer picture has emerged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm very communicative and available. I prefer visiting shooting locations at least once prior to production to scout problem areas and to glean more of what I can do to cater to the client's expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My second of three undergraduate degrees is in Journalism, giving me a good base in constantly looking for the angle on how to tell the story; which players are likely to give me that story and then how to best edit and present that story. My first master's degree, an M.S. in international communication, brought me out into the world and taught me how to go beyond the conversation and look at non-verbal cues and mannerisms as well as environmental factors that will effect the goals for each shoot. My second master's, a terminal MFA in Intermedia, bridged the communication theory with fine arts to help me ameliorate my stock of visual media into a more captivating and meaningful brand of artful expression. I have taught this same idea in universities all over the world, starting with Alaska and moving me to four other continents before returning to the states in 2017.
