Introduction: QuantWys is dedicated to making quantitative subjects less scary and more accessible to everyone. Specializing in economics, statistics and accounting, along with related subjects, we are available for online lessons to anyone or in-person lessons to those in the Cleveland, OH area. Teaching is a passion of mine. One of my favorite feelings is that moment when a student finally grasps an elusive concept. That's why I love tutoring. Giving students that one-on-one attention, observing their stumbling blocks, and working to get past them is the best way to help students learn. I can't count the number of times I've had students tell me "Oh, that makes so much sense now!" and it's because I'm able to identify their specific issues quickly and put the concepts into terms they understand. I'm also an avid learner, earning multiple college degrees and still going! I have experience in those classes as both a student and a teacher, so whether your goal is simply to pass the class or to maintain or improve your GPA, I know I will be able to help.

Charlotte took concepts from my statistics course that I was not able to comprehend, practice or master on my own, even with hours upon hours of study on my own. With a word, a drawing or an example, whole units of material would suddenly come clear to me. Work with Charlotte kept me from repeating incorrect thought processes on my own that would have made correct interpretation of data even harder to demonstrate on tests and homework. There were several times throughout the semester where she'd say the thing that helped me "get" it. I could tell it was genuinely satisfying for her as the teacher when that happened. Meanwhile, I was doing "happy dances". With her help, I am quite confident I will be able to complete a PhD program as a bona-fide quantitative-minded social scientist.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate depends on the complexity of the subject and starts at $40/hour. For returning students who pay in advance or set up a weekly subscription I offer a discount of $5 per hour.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 5 years experience tutoring quantitative subjects. In addition, I have a Bachelor's in Accounting (A average in financial accounting), a Bachelor's in Business Economics (A average in economics), and a Master's in Economics (A average).
How did you get started doing this type of work?
In college I got a scholarship in exchange for working at the tutoring center, which is how I started. It was so enjoyable and rewarding that I continued to take on students after I graduated and have been growing my business ever since!
