My experience with this company was not a good one. At first, everything was informative and seemed legitimate. He was very detailed oriented on what his company had to offer. I signed his contract and paid the deposit. He told me to provide samples of videos. I did and he nerve got back with me. I had to reach out to him and ask if he ever looked at my examples. He eventually responded back and told me that he did not get a chance to review them as he was busy with other clients. Which was fine and I was very understanding. He did respond back by saying that he recently bought a new camera and he thought I would love it. A couple weeks went by and I still did not hear from him. I attempted to text him and he didn't text back until the following day. He asked who I was and I told him by saying that we had an agreement. He never texted back. I tried to call him and he did not answer. I left him a voice mail. No call back. The next day I tried to call him again. And no call back and his voice mail box was now full. My wedding is a month away and I am still trying to find someone to do my video. Thanks for your excellent service Jason.
RiyaCom Productions's reply
Sarah, my sincerest apologies for your unpleasant experience. As I explained in the email there were circumstances beyond my control, but as I also stated, I am upgrading your package at no additional charge. Your wedding is not until next month, and there is still plenty of time to arrange things for your video just the way you want them. I am totally admitting that I have "dropped the ball" but luckily there is still time to make things right. I have many other happy customer so you know this is not the normal way to conduct business. I don't blame for being upset, all I can do is admit my mistake and give my best effort to correct the mistake and make you happy.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have usually a base rate which includes a 2 hour minimum and is also adjusted for distance and travel expenses. I also offer a couple of exrtra options I offer the client. Then, the number of hours my services are needed multiplied by an hourly rate (a base hourly rate, adjusted for travel expenses). Then add in the base cost plus the premium services (if any) and that gives the total. I also am willing to work with cutomers to help give them the maximum I can to fit into thier budget. I send them a agreement for services, they sign and return plus a 1/3 deposit to hold date for them. The second 1/3 payment is due before or date of the event, and the final 1/3 is paid when DVD and BluRay discs are ready.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First I try to give an inital quote as close to what I think will be the final cost as I can. Then, I like to get more information by having a question and answer session by email. Finding out additional details. I also mention additional services we offer like live streaming that no one else offers. This is why we stand apart from the rest.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started working with photography and computers when I was around 12. I saved up money doing odd jobs and bought my first 35mm camera outfit. We were lucky enough to get a home computer when I was 13, and I learned how to work with them, repair them, rebuild them..etc. Then in high school I was a photographer for the school newspaper and yearbook. I also started videotaping sporting events at my high school as well. In my early 20s I worked for a few radio stations, learning everything from sales to live broadcasts, to on air talent, and even producing ads. I have been working with computers, audio equipment (I played guitar in a local band too for a couple of years), video equipment, photgraphy, and more for many years, then about three years ago, I took a film making class at my local college and decided to pursue media production and entertanmetn as a career. Soon after finding this site, I had to expand my business to accomodate the demand. Thumbtack is the best investment I ever made!
