Introduction: I love officiating at weddings! My goal is to help you create the perfect and unique ceremony that will make your day special and memorable. Here are some of the services that I offer:
An extensive database of services, readings, prayers, vows, and blessings from a wide variety of religious traditions as well as non-religious services and readings. You can use one of these services as is, or use all of these resources to develop your own unique wedding ceremony.
Assistance in developing a wedding ceremony that is tailored to your beliefs and personal preferences. I have performed over 150 wedding ceremonies from a variety of religious traditions as well as a variety of non-religious ceremonies.
Same-sex and second marriages are welcome
Preparing all legal documents required by the state of Ohio
Directing the wedding rehearsal
Performing the wedding ceremony within the greater Miami Valley area
Up to two meetings (excluding the rehearsal and wedding) and as many phone calls, emails and texts as necessary to plan the perfect ceremony for you!
My charge for all of this is $150. I look forward to hearing from and working with you!
I love helping to make each couple's wedding day very, very special. I enjoy getting to know them and seeing their excitement as they create their own ceremony. I enjoy the relief that they experience when they know someone is there to help them. I am always touched when I see their happiness on their wedding day, and the satisfaction they experience as they see the ceremony that they created unfold before them.

My husband and I were lucky enough to find Mike's contact information through our florist as we were planning our wedding. Not that the flowers weren't beautiful, because they were, but the best thing we got from the florist was Mike!
My husband and I didn't know exactly what type of ceremony we wanted. We had little pieces of ideas, but no idea how we wanted them to go together. For example, I wanted a section during the ceremony for our guests to have the opportunity to renew their vows, but I didn't want it to cause a huge disruption in the ceremony, or be uncomfortable for guests that were attending alone. Also, we knew we wanted two readings during the ceremony, but my husband wanted more of his family to be involved somehow.
After just one meeting with Mike, where we seemed to throw random ideas at him in no order whatsoever, he put all of our ideas together seamlessly and sent us a draft of the ceremony. He also included options that we could pick from. For example, two different versions of vows, several different reading options (which could easily be split up by several readers), and he fit the renewing of the vows for our guests perfectly within the ceremony!
Both the rehearsal and the ceremony went flawlessly! Now that our wedding day has come and gone, the thing we hear most often as people are reminiscing about the day is how unique our ceremony was and how great Mike was.
We would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking for an officiant! If we did our wedding all over again, it's the one thing I know we would not change!

Mike Kersh was highly recommended by our wedding venue after we lost our officient unexpectedly. He was amazing to work with and extremely professional. He helped us map out our ceremony and made suggestions along the way to help us. He was easy to get in contact with if we every had a question. Our ceremony was perfect and we were so glad to have Mike apart of it!

Mike married us in 2008 in a private ceremony at our house. We met with him several times so that he could understand who we were and what we were thinking. His kindness and attention to detail were delightful, no pressure and a wonderful journey that we took with him. At no time did he make us feel like any idea didn't have value, but he also led us to where we eventually loved what happen. He has true grace and a wonderful sense of timing and humor. Both of us would HIGHLY recommend Mike.

We highly recommend using Mike Kersh. He was professional, on time, and gave us many ideas regarding our ceremony. As a young, black, and lesbian couple we struggled to find someone we trusted and could create a ceremony special to us. He accommodated us in all manners including us being late to our own wedding and it being almost 100 degrees outside. Thank you Mike!
