Amy's Piano Academy

Introduction: I am an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, and a Founding teacher of the Music Development Program. I emphasize my teaching on cultivating students' interests as well as growing their skills. Lessons will cover ear training, technique, and transposition, as well as sight reading, improvisation, and theory. Students will not only have the national music assessment, but will also have recitals, ribbon festivals and competition opportunities. I enjoy watching students make progress and enjoy music every week, and I enjoy creating an "Aha" moment for students to reach their potential. I challenge all students to work effectively, productively and musically. I also utilize technology to enhance student learning. For example, I will conduct mid-week check-ins via FaceTime and use a music lab to teach composition and theory via professional piano software. I love music and the joy it provides me. My sincere wish is to pass this joy along to all of my students.
