Introduction: I have tutored the ACT for over 7 years and have developed proven strategies for quickly improving scores on the ACT by a significant amount. My average student gains 6 points on the ACT with 12 weeks of tutoring.
My proprietary and unique methods differ significantly from large tutoring companies; rather than focusing on the strict application of a methodology, I focus on meta-cognitive and conceptual strategies. Essentially, I teach a student how to think about approaching the test.
Each section has its own mechanics, and the methods I teach expose the under-girding logic and concepts. Students will walk out of our sessions as an expert in the ACT.
Obviously, I don't expect anyone to take me at my word. I'm so confident in my system's effectiveness that in order to prove my effectiveness, I offer optional payment on the first session.
If you don't believe that you got anything out of the session, you don't pay.
I enjoy working with students and teaching them the methods to overcome test anxiety. I enjoy assisting them in sharpening their logical thinking and reasoning, as well as helping them get into their first-choice school.

Matt Hartman is an excellent tutor! He knows how to identify a student's needs and cater to those needs to push the student to get the results they are looking for. He is very thorough, patient, encouraging, and cares about his students' progress. He is very knowledgeable and is excellent about helping students develop the skills and fundamentals to help them do great on their tests. Matt is also very easy to converse with, and is very good about responding to communications, and accommodates scheduling when possible. I definitely recommend him as a tutor, 100%!!!

Matt did an outstanding job of working with my son to get his ACT score up. He gave personal attention to him and did a great job at developing a personal plan and focus. He worked with him for a 5 week period and we saw his ACT improve 3 points in that short time. He is very reasonably priced and has a flexible schedule. I would highly recommend Matt for any parent and student that needs some extra help to improve their ACT score.
