My 12 1/2-yr-old daughter has been taking private lessons with Miyako for many years, after beginning as a shy, anxious little girl. After all this time, I don't have the words to describe how consistently wonderful Miyako has been. She is an expert, and continually seeks to further her knowledge/skills by attending premier international music programs. I am astounded when I hear my daughter practice, that a 12 yr old can play these intricate pieces by piano masters, and that Miyako has inspired her and taught her the technical skills to do it. Miyako seems to be well connected with the local music community and offers different opportunities for her students to perform. She is a good communicator and is generous in her flexibility to accommodate schedule changes when needed. She is also reasonably priced. Miyako is truly the best of the best and I would welcome any personal questions you may have by phone or text (301) 788-2163. At different times over the years we have worked with Miyako at The Piano Works in downtown Frederick and at Miyako's home studio, so I can offer a perspective on both.

I have been with Ms. Miyako for over 5 years now, and she has been an incredibly supportive and encouraging teacher. Not only does she play the piano beautifully, but she goes the extra mile to make her students feel inspired so one day they can too.
