What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I give my best price up front and install is included.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet at your home. Its good to look at samples there and get measurements. I carry the latest shades, blinds and shutters and can show you colors and textures that will work best in your home. Most often I can give an estimate when we meet or email depending on time at the appointment. Usually takes about an hour depending on size of home, if you are looking for ideas or know what you want.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for a large window covering company for 6 years from 2003-2008. when they closed there doors, I decided to start a business for myself and have been helping customers with there window treatment needs since then. I love what I do!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I just finished my Dental assisting school and a friend of mine had been working for this window covering business (Absolut) and asked if I wanted a position in the company. So I switched directions and I'm happy to say it worked out well!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with builders, realtors, investors, homeowners, rental agency's, commercial businesses, and restoration company's.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I helped a customer who had a beautiful view out there windows. They were getting estimates for shades and were shown ones that blocked that view. When I showed them the ones they could get that would keep the sun out but not the beautiful view they were thrilled and surprised no one had shown them this. After the shades arrived 2 1/2 weeks later they were very pleased!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Shades are an investment. You don't want to have to replace them in a few years. You will enjoy the look of them for years to come. They can really make a home look beautiful!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
How do you want to control the light in a bedroom? Is the view important? How hot or cold does the room get? Do I want privacy?
