FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A trial month is available, then a flat rate is charged each month (some months have 3 lessons and some have 5 but each semester averages 4 lessons a month when completed). The local school district calendar is generally followed and a semester contract is signed at the beginning of each semester unless a trial month is scheduled first. A studio masterclass and recital experience are provided once a semester to foster community within the studio, as well as participation in local festivals as desired.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to come over for a free 30 minute interview lesson. This allows us to get acquainted and be sure your child is comfortable with me. We can also discuss goals and expectations for lessons, and I can answer any questions you may have. If the student will be transferring, I will also ask them to play a sample of whatever they've been studying.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a double masters degree from the Eastman School of Music in Piano Performance and Music Education (frequently ranked #1 in music conservatories across America) and a Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. I have been teaching for over 20 years in my private studio, the university setting and community music schools. I’m also certified in Orff-Schulwerg and have experience teaching early childhood music.
