I attended a social singles/couples event hosted by Tangela on September 19, 2015, and I had an awesome time! The event was from 8 pm-12 am, and utilized two venues, Sushi Choo-Choo and Lucky Strike. We had sushi first. I had never been to a revolving sushi bar before, and neither had the other people, and so there was a constant flow of conversation just from the novelty of the venue itself. Great icebreaker!
Tangela took part in the festivities, and was very polite and respectful, without being too stiff and formal. She dressed very professionally, was clean, and always had a smile on her face! She made us all feel at ease in our skin, and most importantly she showed us that she cared about our experience, asking us questions about our background, likes and dislikes, and even offering up some of her own history, so it didn't feel like an interview or interrogation.
The best part was the nature of the people she invited. As a Christian, and having lived the party life for many years and finding it highly unsatisfying, I was looking for a way to enjoy my spare time in a way that didn't clash with my faith, with other like minded people. It was so refreshing to meet and talk with other young christians who could relate to my experiences!
I used to drink profusely because I thought it was the thing to do at parties, but after a while realized I wasn't being true to myself, and since then drink infrequently, and in moderation. Since that decision, its been difficult finding a way to have fun in the Houston nightlife and still keep my conscience. At least it was, until I found Tangela's event! I'm looking forward to her next one, and I'm definitely bringing friends!
