FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every event is so individualized based on guest count, age group, activities desired... there really is no 'cookie cutter' pricing system for our services, although there are certainly formulas for pricing. For instance, if your guest count is over 20 and you desire face painting at a birthday party, I usually suggest you add a balloon twister and have two entertainers. This way, this children are not all lined up waiting for face painting because they have another entertainer with which to interact. Additionally, if you desire entertainment during a particularly busy season (i.e. 4th of July), book early and don't expect to much negotiation on the prices. If your event is during a slower time of year, rates may be more favorable and/or more negotiable. We do have some standardized packages for birthday parties. With a small group of guests (i.e. 10), one entertainer or clown can provide 90 minutes of fun with a choice of two activities (i.e. face painting, balloon twisting, comedy magic show, games, music/dance). With a larger group (i.e. 15-25), we offer a two (2) hour party package consisting of 2 entertainers, with your choice of activities, usually face painting, balloon twisting and a comedy magic show.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most of our initial contact is through Thumbtack, email and text messaging. I usually let the client take the lead in making contact by phone. I don't ever like to feel pressured into something and I certainly don't want my potential clients to feel pressured either. I strive to provide sufficient information in order to allow the client to make the best, informed decision possible. I believe that there is nothing quite like verbal communication. While my client always has access to my phone number, I invite them to initiate that first phone call. There is just so much communication that is missing in the written word (voice inflection, pauses, tone, language, etc.) that conveys substantial information. When discussing details, I can tell when a customer is more, or less, excited about a suggestion on the phone.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our clowns, myself included, have all graduated from the Gator Clown School right here in Jacksonville. Most of our entertainers continue their education by attending seminars, conferences, camps, private classes and monthly 'jam' sessions in which Jacksonville area entertainers come together and share ideas, knowledge and designs in an informal, fun and friendly setting. Additionally, practice, practice, practice is what polishes our craft.
