I have enjoyed my experience with trainer Bri Rice. My one year old standard poodle has made marked improvement under her instruction. She exhibits a confident style that dogs respond to favorably. Bri has juggled her schedule to work with my dog at night and at public locations to work on specific behavior problems, like meeting other dogs on a leash. I enthusiastically recommend Bri to anyone with dog training needs.

I literally thought my dog would get kicked out of class she was so anxious around other dogs. After some hard work, she's now able to walk with a lax leash, sit and stay, and come when called. Most importantly her anxiety when around other dogs has decreased substantially. Bri went above and beyond to make sure I understood how to best train my dog. I definitely would've been in way over my head without the Bri's help!

We have nothing but great things to say about our experience with Lead Your Dog and trainer Bri. Last april, we adopted a 1.5 year old Basenji, Lab, Pittie mix, named Avery, filled with much love, energy, and nervousness. As time progressed and our initially “learned” training and communication skills for Avery fell by the waist side, we were in need of help and a change of approach in how we interacted with our pup. So began our search for a trusty trainer. After our initial consultation with Bri and evaluating the experiences we've had with our pup, we decided to enroll Avery in a 4 week off-leash Board and Train with layering of eCollar technology. Bri is highly knowledgeable in dog behaviors and answered so many of the questions we had. Throughout the whole time Avery was in training, Bri would update us occasionally on what they were working on, his progress, interactions with her pack, field trips, and observations of triggers for his nervousness—which you can see from her Facebook posts that she truly works to proof pups in all types of situations. Mid-way through and at the end of the B&T, Bri conducts a lesson with you and your pup to show you all of the learned communication commands and provides you with skills to troubleshoot situations of breaking commands. While each of these sessions come packed with TONS of information and hands-on learning points, Bri makes a point to make your feel comfortable with the commands and working your pup. We have officially had Avery back from his training for over a week. (Even outside of the 4 week training, Bri has been super quick to respond to any questions that have come up.) The change that we have seen in our pup with the leadership of Bri to help us better communicate with our pup is truly incredible. Our nervous pup now has the skills to manage through situations, is more confident in completing commands, and looks to us for guidance. This has been a great investment for a long-term happy and healthy relationship with our pup.

My husband and I adopted a 2-year-old boxer mix, Rosie, this summer. She had spent a year (half of her life!) in a kennel in western Kansas before we met her. Rosie is a very sweet dog that is affectionate and gentle with every person she has met - but she is also large, young, and insecure, especially around other dogs. She has a very strong prey drive, which makes walks challenging with all the cats, squirrels and bunnies in our neighborhood. We decided to get some professional help training her. I'd never hired a dog trainer before, so I had no idea how to choose between the many formats and philosophies available. What I really loved about Bri was her depth of knowledge about dog behavior, her ability to communicate that knowledge to my husband and I, and how much she clearly cared about the dog's experience and wellbeing. Having trained my previous dog with treats, I really liked that the balanced training that Bri uses was treat-free. Now Rosie listens to me wether or not I have a cookie to give her, and I get a lot of satisfaction from the trust-relationship that I am building with Rosie as we work together. Training is no magic bullet - it is a LOT of work. Rosie is still an insecure dog and she still reacts to other dogs. But now, instead of hoping I don't encounter something to set her off on our walk and worrying about what will happen if I do, I understand why Rosie behaves the way she does, and I feel confident in the tools I have to help her manage her stress. Bri has been phenomenal in helping me gain the confidence to train Rosie and to make training decisions for myself, both in our lessons and by text message at all times of day. I would not have gotten this level of help from group classes. Bri came to our house and worked with Rosie and my family in the spaces and situations where we were having problems. She was very flexible and adjusted our lesson content to our needs week-by-week. Even though our lessons have ended, she still helps via texts. Working with Bri was an excellent experience for my dog and our family.

Bri is absolutely a life saver! After rescuing my 7 month old pit bull terrier I quickly realized that regardless of how many dog training videos I watched online I knew him and I both were going to need hands-on training with an experienced, passionate, understanding obedience trainer. After 6 sessions with her, Hudson's behavior has improved ten-fold. After just the first session, I was able to learn the principles of dog walking and now I walk him instead of Hudson walking & pulling me. We learned the basic principles and commands that make a dog & owner life's so much more enjoyable. When I have company to the house there is no barking at the door bell or guest, he goes to 'place' and stays until he is told 'free'. These commands are just a few that will have such a positive impact for you and dog both! Hudson loves Bri so much that now he gets to spend two days a week with her instead of going to doggy daycare. With her he is able to interact with her other board and train dogs while still getting effective training and a whole lot of attention and love! I highly recommend Bri to anyone looking for an effective obedience trainer that will educate you on the right training tools to ensure a happy relationship with you and your dog for life!
