Introduction: Honoring a teaching career of 30 years it has been a top priority of mine to employ a flexible teaching style designed for the musical needs of every student.
Whether playing a contemporary piece of the student's choice or following a method book, the fundamentals of music are incorporated with an increased sophistication at every level of advancement.
Encouraging curiosity and self-motivation as well as energizing my students with music that they can relate to helps feed their desire to play the piano. Respecting and following through with the fundamentals of music, while gently encouraging practice, contributes to their ability to play the piano, more proficiently with every passing year.
I enjoy the process of sparking interest in piano and watching that interest achieved, grow into a skill that can be used, be it playing for others, and/or as a means for self-expression.
