FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I give my clients the option of paying by the hour with a set rate of $65 per hour or I can give them a detailed estimate that gives them the whole cost of the project. For smaller projects payment is due upon completion. Larger projects may require half of the payment upfront to cover costs. Transportation is always included in the price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For larger projects I prefer to come out and see the project first hand before I give a price. There is nothing more frustrating as a client than to get a price from a handyman and then have it change at the end. To ensure this doesn't happen I offer free quotes to all my clients and provide them with a detailed estimate. Once the client approves the estimate we get to the fun part of setting a time to start.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have extensive knowledge in concrete engineering as well as construction. I have a degree from France as an Engineer specializing in concrete and I ran a construction company from 1994 to 2000. I also worked as a project manager for a company that renovated banks. My job was to price all projects for my region and oversee all aspects of the renovations. When I moved to Texas to be close to my wife's family I had the opportunity to work as a Wood Shop teacher for a school.
