Guillaume was a pleasure to work with! We needed a few wooden porch steps replaced on our historic home in the Heights and I’m glad we selected him. He brought all tools and cut the wood onsite, and even hauled away the old steps. He was on time, responsive, precise, and was able to complete our project quickly. Would use him again. He doesn’t paint so the pictures below are a before and after without paint.Jun 27, 2018Verified
Guillaume was very meticulous and took his time to make sure the job was done right. He was very helpful with measuring and ordering our non-standard sized door and the installation looks great. We are very happy and would not hesitate to hire Guillaume again.Jul 21, 2018Verified
I had a confirmed 5pm appt. and he was a no-show. No cancellation. Didn’t answer phone or email. I wasted my whole Friday afternoon waiting around. I can only conclude that this guy is unreliable at best.Jul 20, 2018Verified
We had an appointment he never showed up never called... very disappointedJun 16, 2018VerifiedGuillaume G.'s reply
Sir I am sorry but there seems to be an error. I asked you to send me your address to my cell phone and you did not send your address. I had no way of knowing where to go for the appointment without this information.

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I give my clients the option of paying by the hour with a set rate of $55 per hour or I can give them a detailed estimate that gives them the whole cost of the project. For smaller projects payment is due upon completion. Larger projects may require half of the payment upfront to cover costs. Transportation is always included in the price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? For larger projects I prefer to come out and see the project first hand before I give a price. There is nothing more frustrating as a client than to get a price from a handyman and then have it change at the end. To ensure this doesn't happen I offer free quotes to all my clients and provide them with a detailed estimate. Once the client approves the estimate we get to the fun part of setting a time to start.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have extensive knowledge in concrete engineering as well as construction. I have a degree from France as an Engineer specializing in concrete and I ran a construction company from 1994 to 2000. I also worked as a project manager for a company that renovated banks. My job was to price all projects for my region and oversee all aspects of the renovations. When I moved to Texas to be close to my wife's family I had the opportunity to work as a Wood Shop teacher for a school.
