FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The standard hourly rate for a teacher with my experience starts around $50/hour. My base price starts below because I want lessons to be affordable and think everyone can benefit from quality music education. I give additional savings to those who purchase lesson packs because students will learn quicker through consistent lessons, and again, it is my goal to remain affordable.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To formulate a path forward, one must know the starting point. I talk with each student to figure out their point of origin, and then we work together to find an agreeable way to achieve their goals. Together with a unified plan, we can achieve great music!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's of Music degree in piano performance. I am also a trained piano technician and tuner. Upon university faculty request, I gave a workshop for their staff accompanists on Sightreading- How to efficiently read, learn and retain music (2017). This summer (2018) I was invited to the University of Florida Performing Arts and Medicine Symposium to give a presentation on teaching rhythm in an online lesson setting. It was a wonderful honor and experience.
