FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All lessons are $65 per hour, with $15 off your first lesson. I also have a referral discount of $20 for your next lesson if you successfully refer a new student to me.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first voice lesson is all about getting to know your voice. We talk a little bit about your vocal background, your musical goals, and your preferred genres. I also explain a bit about my process and how lessons work. We spend most of the first lesson doing vocal warm-ups, so I can accurately diagnose your vocal abilties, your range, and innate vocal timbre. We then work together to devise a game plan for finding your voice and building a technique.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching and singing at the professional level for over 25 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Music, and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Performance. I am also certified in the LoVetri Method, which is training in teaching Contemporary Commerical Music Styles. Additionally, I belong to several professional voice teacher organizations, which helps me stay current in the industry. I also write a monthly column and feature articles for Classical Singer Magazine, and I am sought after as a judge for vocal competitions. I have been a judge at the district and regional levels for Solo & Ensemble for several years.
