Dr. John is an absolutely fabulous health/fitness coach! I live on the east coast so all of our coaching was via email, text, and phone conversations. I always felt John was available for me whenever I needed him, even Being 2,000+ miles away. He programmed both workouts and nutrition for me and followed up with me on a consistent basis to see how it was going. John is more than a trainer. He specializes is many other related areas which make him an expert in his field. I'm 61 and as a former fitness instructor I have 61 ailments! He knows how to work with each of them. I love the app it's a no brainer. He tells me what I need to do daily. He can adjust what I need to eat as well and if I don't post I'll be getting a reminder.Apr 13, 2016
After a bad wreck I was pretty fragile. Dr. John helped get me over the hump. I had hit a plateau. With tons of encouragement, expert advice and help, he got me through the next phase! My pain levels greatly decreased as my flexibility increased. I hit my goals and 35 lbs of muscle later, I'm a very happy man! Dr. John Vigil trained me for my first INBA figure competition in 2013. As an endurance athlete (marathon and triathlon), a figure competition was a bucket list goal of mine. I knew that training for it would be quite different from all the cardio that I was used to, but Dr. John was an excellent coach. 16 weeks of contest prep included a diet and training program so that all I had do to was follow his directions. I'm not saying that it was easy by any means, but I didn't have to think about anything other than following the diet, do the workouts, and watch my body transform. John was always available if I needed support or had questions and he kept track of my progress diligently. If you're looking to do a show or just get into better physical shape, I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. John. Not only does he have the chiropractic background and expertise, he also has experience with training for and competing in bodybuilding competitions himself. I ended up winning two trophies at that INBA competition in the Masters figure division and I owe that success to the StretchDoc.Apr 16, 2016
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First, meeting each other so we understand each others personalities. Second, discussing the specific goals and how to achieve them in a respectable & reasonable time frame. Third, discuss the scheduling and what work's best to fit the clients goal, and time frame to accomplish the goal. Fourth, we get to work and have fun along the way!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a chiropractor of 16 years, I understand movement and functional patterns, this helps me identify areas of decreased strength that need focus. I can also provide onsite feedback to any muscle issue currently happening during a training session. With my experience as an triathlete, ultra-runner, weight lifter, fitness-running-triathlete coach, I understand the different aspects in which clients learn and offer a variety of ways to explain or demonstrate.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Being a chiropractor lead many patients to asking if I knew a personal trainer or fitness coach, often times, asking if I would train them. This opened a great opportunity to help others in different ways to achieve there personal best.
