Introduction: We started Kansas City House Painting and Remodeling about 2 years ago after working for someone who wasn't very nice to us and would sometimes try to get us to do questionable things that we were not comfortable with.We all had similar backgrounds of working in residential type construction and painting and had pretty much been doing it for most of our lives. It only made sense that we should start our own business instead of working under others and we had our own ideas about how a business should be run. We had been working with this person for quite some time and at one point we asked ourselves why?We didn't like the way he did things and so we made our escape plan.
This was the start of our adventure and it was one of the best life decisions I have ever made. I now feel good about going to work and I am proud of what I do. I no longer dread waking up in the morning to slave all day working for people that like to take short cuts and don't have pride in their work .I no longer have a boss and I am not anyone else's boss either. All of my painters, carpenters, remodelers, etc. are my partners. I am ultimately the captain of the ship and make the final call but only after listening to their valuable input. We are a team and we treat our customers and each other the same way that we would like to be treated. We spend extra time doing things that a lot of others skip because in the end our name is on it and also because we actually enjoy the work.We aren’t just going through the motions and doing the bare minimum but instead look at each project like we are creating a piece of art.We put as much care and attention to detail into their homes as we would our own.
I enjoy being creative and playing a role in assisting others in bringing about their own creative vision. They have a picture in their minds about what it is they want to have. They have been fantasizing about it for quite some time and when all the stars align and everything is in place then they are ready to pull the trigger and complete the vision. I get the honor of helping facilitate this process and get to offer my own suggestions sometimes. This is just one of many rolls I get to play in trying to manifest their vision. I have to be able to wear many hats and have to be able to not only communicate well with many different types of people but also must be able to listen and be receptive to them.it can be a delicate balancing act sometimes and requires me to juggle many balls at once but there is nothing nothing better than seeing customers' faces light up when seeing their freshly painted or remodeled house for the first time. This gives us great satisfaction!
