- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked for a home builder in high school. Then a lumber yard and started my own window repair business. Then I worked as a glazier installing commercial glass in commercial buildings and high end residences, as I ran a handyman business during nights and weekends. At 20, I started working for a wholesale distributor of building products. With this job, I learned about every building product on the residential market, while I handled and serviced over 120 lumber yards throughout Minnesota and Nebraska I received training on the installation of all the products DIRECT from the manufacturer, best training possible. As I worked for the wholesaler, I also ran a cabinet and picture frame business, along with general remodeling. Then. I moved to Lincoln, to work on a Degree in Architecture through UNL, during which, I started my Remodeling business again, but here in Lincoln. In 18 years I've never advertised for work, and this is my first type of advertising. I thought it was a social network thing like LinkedIn. Now I'm just curious about how it works, so here I am.
