- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have the student come with a prepared piece that will show their level of competency. We will begin with the initial building blocks of bow technique and scales (fingerboard geography).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor of music degree from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. My teachers have included Bernard Greenhouse and Richard Kapuscinski and I have attended master classes with Lynn Harrell and Mistislav Rostropovich. I am a devotee of the Leonard Rose school of cello playing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Teaching assures the future generation of cellists. I teach to ensure that the symphony orchestra will continue to thrive and to raise awareness locally that classical music is not dying!
