FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard 1-hour lesson rate is $70. I prefer offering hour lessons because I believe that most students need at least that amount of instruction time per week in order to improve.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free trial lesson for all interested students. We'll start by discussing your level of experience and musical interests and goals. If you have any repertoire prepared, I will listen to about 5-10 minutes of it to get a sense of your personality, your strengths, and your areas for improvement both as a musician and as a cellist. I'll then work with you to identify how you can be more productive in your individual practice and what we'll need to focus on in our lessons together. My goal is to help you discover and enrich your unique musical voice and express it through the cello in the most convincing way possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Master of Music with honors in Cello Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and I'm currently working toward a Graduate Certificate in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music. I have performed in many of the major concert halls around the world, alongside classical musicians who are at the top of the field. I have extensive private teaching experience, primarily in Boston, where I lived prior to moving to Los Angeles in Fall 2015.
