FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is $50 an hour. I have all of the necessary equipment to teach my students to become great singers (and more importantly, artists), not only from a technical standpoint, but also by using the mic effectively and becoming artists who really move an audience. To me, once the technicalities are mastered, the MOST important thing is to really know how to deliver it -- make your audience connect with you -- whether it's a studio recording or live performance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love getting to know my students. Of course, I ask them to demonstrate some of their vocals, but I also ask questions to really get a feel for what my students are aiming for -- What is your ultimate goal? What drives you? What about music and other areas in your life create the passion and drive to be a great singer? I always evaluate my students' abilities when we first meet and always take notes FOR them so they can work on what I am teaching them as we work together, instead of them being the one taking notes on what they need to do to improve their skills. That makes their time more valuable. Then, we go over everything so they understand their goals and "homework" (I promise it is fun homework:)) for the week for improving what we work on at each lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Music and am a Nashville recording artist. I have played all over the country and am (like I encourage my students to be) able to sing all different genres. I love all types of music, which is great because diversity is key to being successful in whatever genre you choose. My music has been on the radio and in 2006 I was awarded Georgia Vocalist of the Year. My song, "Cry Like Memphis," was on 94.9 Top Ten Songs of the Year. I studied under renowned Jan Smith, who also taught some of the top artists in the country from all different genres, including Usher, Florida Georgia Line, Ciara, Sugarland, Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty, Colbie Caillet, and many others.
