FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I cater to all of my students on an individual level. My process can and will vary from student to student depending on what method clicks the most! That being said, I love the early process of getting to know my students and finding out what has worked well and hasn't worked well for them in the past. For voice, acting, and piano, it is important that we strike a good balance between technical and artistic learning for each lesson. I am here to encourage following your instincts and developing your own strategy to improve and become self-sufficient as an artist. As a vocal technician, we will build up your own fully energized, open and supported sound. We will explore topics like body alignment, tension, breath coordination, articulation, resonance, and blending of the upper and lower processes of the voice to develop a flexible mix that will expand your versatility and stamina as a singer. You will develop an integrated technique where your voice will freely serve your acting intentions. I wish for all of my students to be excellent story tellers and foster honest and vulnerable moment to moment work in a song. We will work on making strong and clear choices when acting a song in addition to becoming more in control of your mind/body connection. I teach with energy and passion. I believe that even the most rudimentary piano techniques can be fun and engaging for my students. It is important that, in addition to working on the fundamentals of music theory, the student likes what they are hearing come out of their fingers. Learning to play a simple pop song with the aid of a lead sheet and chord charts can motivate and keep the students' interests even through some of the more challenging processes. As an acting coach, I will help you explore how your voice is one of your most powerful tools as an actor. I am primarily a Meisner based teacher, however will explore other methods such as Adler and Hagen as well. Through these methods, we will learn to live in imaginary circumstances with commitment and specificity.

Pennsylvania State University B.F.A. Musical Theatre 2014
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually started because of sports! When I was very young, a friend of mine on the travel baseball team asked me if I wanted to do a kids production of "Romeo and Juliet." After some strong convincing, I agreed and was hooked ever since.
