FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with an introductory phone call or meeting with the new student. We discuss his or her struggles with the test, ideal score, learning style, and any other questions he or she may have. I take a look at any old scores from previous attempts or results from a practice test in order to determine which areas to focus on and develop a timeline for our sessions. I then share this timeline with the student and get feedback before scheduling the first session.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with students of all ages, having tutored children as young as 12 and adults up to the age of 24.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I advise clients to find a tutor that can not only do well personally on the ACT, SAT, etc. but is also an effective communicator and understands how to teach students with varying learning styles, weaknesses, and more. A good tutor not only has the required knowledge of standardized tests but also has demonstrated experience in being able to effectively convey that learning to others. In addition, a tutor must also be able to analyze your previous results and progress in order to determine where your focus should lie in the future, otherwise he or she will not be putting your time to its best use to get the best return on investment.
