Our mission is to provide the highest quality personal training service from the highest qualified trainers in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton refers their patients to us for continued at home Exercise Therapy. Our caring attitudes shines through as we treat every customer with superior attention, integrity and respect. Destination Fitness is owned and operated by Jill Lindberg, Nurse and Medical Health Care Professional. While working in the healthcare industry and raising a family, Jill saw the need for Seniors, Adults and Children who wanted to become fit and healthy in the comfort of their own home without having to waste precious time running back and forth to the health club. She also saw a need for people who wanted quality certified trainers and exercise therapists who would give them their undivided attention without having to compete for fitness equipment, parking spaces or a free shower stall. Jill Lindberg, along with her team of Certified Personal Trainers and Wellness Support Staff, truly enjoys helping each client reach their fitness and wellness goals, no matter how large or how small.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

The best part of my our day is helping a client in need. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing a client thank you for helping them reach their goals. Whether it be recovering from a surgery or injury or wanting to reach a bucket list goal, we look forward to helping each client with superior attention, integrity and respect.

    I truly don't think I could have received better service from Jill and Dan Conroy at Destination Fitness. Jill was enthusiastic and completely engaged in making sure I had the right trainer to reach my goals. Dan Conroy is exactly who I was looking for - he listens, encourages me to reach my fitness goals while correcting for any potential injury I'm doing to myself because of my poor form. I would recommend anyone looking for a trainer to seek out someone with an exercise physiology background. Worth.every.dollar.

    your personal trainers are very well versed in what they do. they give you exercises that are just enough to push you past your personal limits. it's very nice to have them come to your house.

    Destination Fitness is the best! This is by far the best money I have ever spent! I wasted so much money on health clubs that I never went to. I tried tapes and classes at various clubs and park districts. I never stuck to any plan until I tried Destination Fitness and Jill's team. Jill was so caring and listened to my story. She helped put together a plan and introduced me to her trainer Marty and her Registered Dietitian Melissa. For the first time everything clicked! They did not make me feel like I had to drop and give them 20 push ups. They created fun exercises for me to follow that I actually enjoyed! Melissa the RD was amazing. She listened to me as well and helped me create a menu plan that I could follow on my busy schedule. It's almost impossible to stick to a diet when your work schedule means you are traveling, but Melissa made it work! If you are considering using an in home trainer, please call Destination Fitness.     I highly recommend Jill and her team from Destination Fitness. I used her trainer Suzanne to have her help me with strengthening and balancing exercises after my knee surgery. I really loved the water exercises she created for me. After working with Suzanne, my doctor was so impressed with my quick recovery. I can't thank Jill & Suzanne for helping me get back on my feet again.


What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our prices range from $45.00 to $85.00 per hour depending on the clients location for Personal Training in home. For our Nutritional Services with our Registered Dietitian, our fees range from $50.00 to $125.00 for a week/month's worth of services for meal planning and weight loss or for a healthy lifestyle, One on one tutoring for grocery shopping and kitchen organization. Our Wellness Coach's services begin at $50.00 and go up to $150.00 depending on the package you purchase.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a health and wellness consult done over the phone with the owner Jill Lindberg. During the consult, Jill will determine the exact needs and goals the client is looking to achieve. Jill will discuss previous and current health issues and injuries and create a comprehensive plan that will be shared with the appropriate team members that will care for the client. Jill will then assign the perfect trainer to fit the clients needs. The trainer or wellness staff member will then visit the client for their first session. The first session is part testing, part training so the trainer can determine the clients strengths and weaknesses. Each session is custom created to fit the clients needs. All equipment is brought to you or we can incorporate your own equipment into your custom created program. Each workout is specifically designed to help you reach your goals. Whether it be strength training and toning, pre or post rehab, exercise therapy, senior exercise or getting fit for your specific sports goal, Destination Fitness will help you reach your goals! Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and available hours on Saturdays and Sundays too! We have the ability to take you there!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Each of our trainers hold various degrees in Exercise Science and Exercise Physiology from accredited colleges. They also all hold Certified Personal Training degrees, First Aid and CPR Certifications. Each trainer carries liability insurance as well. Each trainer is constantly learning new techniques during their continued education each year to keep their certification up to date.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked in the medical field as a nurse from 1980 to 1988. After the birth of my son, I then worked in the education field with special needs children and adults. In 1999, I built Destination Fitness to help those who could not reach a fitness facility enjoy exercising in the comfort of their own home.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with customers of all walks of life and all age groups. Our youngest client is 12 years old and our oldest client is 92 years young! We work with clients pre and post rehab, due to an injury or surgery. Marianjoy Rehab Institute regularly refers their clients to us to continue post physical therapy exercise in their home. We work with seniors to help them stay strong and well balanced. We also work with clients who want to get fit for an upcoming event or wedding, learn a new sport, run a marathon, help with post pregnancy weight or learn yoga. We help our clients with special needs whether it be fibromyalgia, MS or autism, by creating a routine that will help them to feel safe and secure. Our Registered Dietitian and Nutritional Consultants are also on hand to help custom create a menu plan to help lose weight or to help with healing foods due to an illness. We have even worked with a client who was 500 pounds, hearing and vision impaired who thought it was impossible to work out. Yet our trainer Marty Malone found a way!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We received a call from a son a year ago. His father's health was failing and he spent most days in a wheelchair and bedridden. He took his father fishing as he thought his time was limited on this earth. His dad told him after fishing. I want to live, please help me so I can stay around a bit longer. The son called us and we sent our trainer Marty Malone out to start working with his father. Marty created a program to help strengthen his legs and help him with balance and stability. Each and ever day he gets stronger and has even began to travel again. It's never to late to begin exercise. Never give up, no matter what age you are!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would suggest to be very thorough in checking credentials. Today anyone can take a test on line and receive a degree/certification. But did that professional actually take a class? Go to a school to learn anatomy and physiology? Are they truly certified? Can they show you their certification? Do they carry liability insurance? Do they hold CPR and First Aid certifications? Do they make you pay up front for services and then don't show up? All our trainers have professional background checks done on them. You can feel safe and secure with Destination Fitness. Plus we only charge for sessions used.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What goals would you like to see met? What is the best time of day to train? How can we best help you reach your goals. Honesty is the best policy. Please think about your health and future health and envision your goals. Let us know what they are no matter how small and we can help you reach them!
