About this pro
Edit: After being contacted by the company, I am changing my 1 star review to 4 stars. Here is my previous review with edits: I hired them to resheet and TPO part of my roof. I called them twice to make sure they could match the color with the rest of the roof because it was a big concern for me. They reassured that they could match the roof, but they installed a bright white color, not grey like we agreed to. [Edit: originally, the technician should have made clear that grey TPO is an additional charge. The installer may have installed white since I did not pay extra for grey, since the tech did not put this in the contract. Also, they initially did not think it was a concern since the other grey color they offered me was very close to white, but the manager acknowledged they should have communicated this with me] and, without calling me, decided not to resheet the roof. [Edit: the manager acknowledged they should have contacted me to ask. The technician did not originally think it was a concern since the roof seemed stable and they thought I might not want resheeting since not doing it could save me a couple hundred] Initially when I brought up these concerns they did try to find a way to fix the color, but informed me they would not be able to, and offered a discount. After seeing my review, Solaroo was very concerned about my experience and acknowledged that some miscommunication and missteps that had occurred. They volunteered to do the repairs all over again, with the requested color, and the resheeting, at the original price with a $100 discount. They expressed a lot of concern for what happened and were willing to make it right. I understand how this could happen because I'm sure they have to deal with a lot of unreasonable people all day, and multiple contractors and difficult jobs. This company does have good customer service and Richard was polite and helpful throughout the experience, but I do wish things had been communicated better throughout the process.Jan 6, 2018Verified
Solaroo did an amazing job on our roof and explaining the warranties. I'm thrilled we got a company that was the best price and we got the warranty included. The roof looks so good and Jay communicated with us through the whole process. I highly recommend Solaroo!Mar 3, 2017Verified
Their work was excellent. My only complaint is that they were a bit too optimistic scheduling my roof. We were coming up on summer vacation, and I gave them the option of doing it after we returned, but they wanted to do it before we left. They were late, and we had to delay our vacation a couple days.Dec 23, 2017Verified
They were very knowledgeable and repaired it in one day after the original assessment.Dec 21, 2017Verified
Because of some miscommunication they took a little while to get my roof done, but otherwise they were great. They came really fast to get me a quote, wound up underbidding it a little, but said they would honor it anyway. They kept in touch with me until it was done.Nov 16, 2017Verified

- How did you get started doing this type of work?Having operated as a general contractor for several decades you can get pulled into lots of different areas of focus. Several years ago it became very difficult for us to even get roofers to show up on jobs we were working on so we decided to do the roofing ourselves. This turned into providing Roofing services for other contractors and soon RoofTek became our primary focus. We strive to be the best roofer around.
- What types of customers have you worked with?We install residential, commercial, new construction, Industrial, multifamily apartment units and HOAs. we do asphalt shingle roofs and also TPO or PVC membrane roofs. we also install metal roofs as they are an accent two other Roofing projects. We can service and repair tar and gravel, or rolled asphalt Roofing, as well as servicing asphalt roofs and EPDM, TPO or PVC commercial roofs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?My advice is to verify basic information about the contractor you are dealing with. Verify license and insurance. Also hiring a contractor who is certified buy a material manufacturer is a good way to ensure you get a reputable contractor. Finally I recommend giving a small deposit until all of the work is done and you are satisfied with the quality before making final payment.
