- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Piano owners should be aware of the various levels of expertise in the piano service profession. There are Tuners that do only tuning and small repairs and then there are Rebuilders who know the instrument inside and out. Rebuilders can fix almost anything short of replacing the entire case of the piano (and even that sometimes! ). Technicians who choose to focus on the "middle ground" do action regulation, voicing of the hammers, string repairs and other small parts replacement. The service fees may be more for the Rebuilders or the Technicians but you are getting a higher quality of knowledgeable service. My slogan is "The quality remains long after the price is forgotten".
