Introduction: As a trained vocalist and actor, my growth as an artist has directly paralleled the discovery of my individual voice. The ebb and flow of my creative journey, from harmonizing in all-female bands to my current solo career, taught me the power of the voice in partnership, solidarity and as an instrument in and of itself. I love that it's an instrument anyone can play with the proper guidance. My goal as a voice teacher is to instill that awareness in my students... I pair personal experience with classical training to produce a well-rounded artist with a wide vocal range. I hold a degree in music and performance from The American Music and Dramatic Academy, and currently teach private voice lessons independently and at the Franklin Brentwood Arts Academy in Franklin, TN. Though I love writing and performing, teaching is a passion that fulfills a different side of this ever-evolving artistic life. Working with students to find the confidence to explore their vocal talents while highlighting their individual strengths make my voice lessons an exercise in skill, utilization and stage presence. Simply put, my favorite thing about teaching is the ability to inspire someone to have the confidence to just sing. I believe everyone has it in them, but they sometimes lack the proper training and confidence to just go for it. The voice is a muscle...we must work it out for strength. As a teacher, I love watching my students grow stronger with each lesson, bringing themselves one step closer to achieving their dreams.

As a shy individual, Carrie has made me feel comfortable! From the first email to the first lesson she has asked all of the right questions, some I hadn't asked myself really. Together we have set out on a list of short term and long term goals tailored just for me! I can't wait to continue this new journey with my new vocal instructor. :)

Carrie is a patient, talented vocal coach who brings out the best in her students. I had virtually no singing experience (aside from the occasional car ride or shower) prior to our lessons. She worked with me to find the range and vocal part that best suited me, while helping build my confidence. I've also seen Carrie perform live and was extremely impressed by the way she commands a room and communicates with her band members. All star voice teacher and all around performer!

Carrie helped me understand breath control in just one session in a way that I haven't been able quite get before with multiple other coaches. She's wonderful and will help you find your true voice!
