Charlie is THE BEST teacher, mentor, and friend I've ever had the privilege to learn with. We do Skype lessons whenever convenient, and while scheduling can be challenging, he makes it work. Im in Ohio, but occasionally I'll get a lesson from Spain or some other far away place. Charlie doesn't just teach from a book, though he has plenty of good recommendations. He takes time to help me learn what interests me, and finds ways to tie in a new lesson with it, and there's always something that blows my mind. Charlie also has experience in many areas of music, he hasn't just been a teacher his whole life. So while he does teach me about bass, and music itself, I get advice for the music industry and life in general. He has a very open mind, lots of knowledge and wisdom. I've been playing bass for about six years now but I wouldn't be where I am right now without his help. I seriously recommend studying with Charlie Wooton!

Charlie has been teaching me advanced techniques , with multiple approaches. He has a wealth of knowledge of many styles and I have benefited from his Jazz and Funk expertise.
This cat can simplify things and break it down for you or he can provide wicked grooves that will make you want to keep your bass in your hands!

Charlie gives my daughter bass lessons. He teaches her technique and basics, but, also gives her "finished" things to do that show her where the lessons are heading and keep it fun and keep her interested in the process.

As I sit here pondering how best to describe my bass student experience with Charlie, I believe there are four fundamental skills/attributes Charlie has going for him as a bass instructor: 1) A thorough command of music theory and its application to bass guitar. 2) A great and deep love for music which enables him to be connected with that thing in you that loves music too. 3) Excellent communication skills and 4) A sharp focus on learning who you are as a player and tailoring his comments, suggestions and instruction to help you be a better player right now and in the foreseeable future. Beyond this, Charlie has a 100% positive mindset and will provide unwavering support and belief in your ability to improve your playing. Regardless of whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, you will learn a lot and have a positive, productive experience with Charlie Wooton.
