The Voice and Piano Studio of Lauren Fanning

Introduction: VOICE: I teach students ages 8 and up. I believe all students have the ability to sing and make music, as long as someone (me) is willing to help them find their full potential. Because of this belief, I am willing to teach multiple styles of music. All students will learn how the vocal instrument works, how to sing healthily to ensure sustainability through a classical foundation (which will transfer beyond this style), how to express themselves through music, and how to appreciate all styles and sing according to each style's characteristics. PIANO: I teach students 5 years and up, from beginner level to intermediate level. Students will learn music theory, music appreciation, correct technique, and how to apply this technique to multiple musical styles, including but not limited to chord charts and contemporary music. As a musician, I understand and value the importance of music in everyone's lives. It is so important, especially for children, to learn to use music as a way to express themselves and learn more about themselves. When it comes to singing, your voice is a result of your whole self-- your self esteem, your health, etc. I love teaching people to love themselves, be vulnerable, and access their heart in its rawest form. The same goes for playing the piano! Overall, I want to change the culture of music training... I want everyone to feel that they can learn how to make music, no matter what the haters say. ;) Music does not belong to the elite, but to every breathing being.
