FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Jobs generally range in price from $1-$2 per square foot. The large range in price is dependent upon the number of coats of paint needed, how high the ceilings or outside of house is and how much detail work is needed versus just flat open wall space. Each and every job is different so unlike production plants that make the same product all day, we have to visit most job sites to know what it will cost to perform the work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. First we conduct a free no obligation sight visit to better understand what the project goals are and then to clearly define what our role will be. Once a price is agreed upon we have the customer sign a contract and schedule the date the work will start 2. Communication is very important to us. Many of our customers have complained about the lack of responsiveness from painters once they say they will complete the job. We make it a priority to show up when we say we will or to call and re-schedule if we experience weather or project delays. 3. When we show up to do the work, our approach depends on whether the work is inside or outside. 3.1 If the work is inside, we will ask what the customer's preference is on removing our shoes and if they have a preference about the area we start on first. We will do all sanding, mudding, and priming at first. We bring a vaccuum and drop cloths to cover furniture with and to set our tools and equipment on. Having a clean organized work site is very important to us! Then, we will apply finishes and do a final inspection with the homeowner to ensure they are satisfied with the finished product. 3.2 If the work is outside, we will again ask the customer if they have pets, any concerns with where we start and if they need us to move any patio furniture etc. We then complete the prep work and apply the finishes. Our final step is to do the walk through with the customer to ensure they are pleased with the final result.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most education in painting comes from experience and from talking with paint distributors. We prefer to work with Sherwin Williams as their products are superior to others we have tried over the years. Billie has painted for over 35 years. Brad has a degree in construction management and is pursuing higher education through UNL. He has taken courses through his program on mold and indoor air quality.
