Hi. 👋 I have been a patient of Covyn for some time. She is a Physician that I will not only continue to see but refer out as well. Covyn’s skill and handling of the acupuncture needles create a comfort in me and I am no longer fearful of needles. Her knowledge of pressure points really amaze me and she always seems to know where I’m hurting (sometimes before I do) and quickly identifies the root of the problem. She is spot on (pun intended 😉) whether using acupressure or acupuncture. Her mellow comfortable manner makes her easily approachable and comforts me when I summarize what’s truly going on with me. She listens and it shows in her care and when an area of care is outside of her acupuncture ability, she encourages me to find the right source for my care. That’s big! Don’t hesitate...what do you have to lose but recovery?

My two boys were in a vehicle accident and one had head and knee trauma and the other had back and clavical issues. It was quick to get in with her (over Christmas weekend!), she was extremely thorough asking very detailed questions and listened making them feel very comfortable and that she was there to help, she cared. She was also sensitive to my son who has a very difficult time with needles helping him feel reassured. She followed up the next day checking to make sure they were ok and if they had any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend Dr. Montemayor for any medical needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we will start with a complimentary consultation. If your particular health concern is something that I believe I can help you with we will schedule time to do a comprehensive initial exam and treatment. If I do not believe that I can help you achieve your health goals I will do my best to refer you to the right health care practitioner. After your initial exam and treatment we will sit down together and put together a treatment plan so that we are both on the same page as we progress towards your health goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed acupuncture physician and East Asian medicine practitioner. I attended Florida College of Integrative Medicine which is one of the oldest acupuncture schools on the East Coast! During my clinical internship I studied intensives in Hara diagnosis, herbal medicine, and neuro-acupuncture.
