FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $20 for a 30 minute lesson and $35 for a 60 minute lessons. Regular scheduled lessons are eligible for discounted rates(block rates). For example, if you decide to get lessons and you want a discount for 5 or 6 lesson commitment, I can work with you if you pay for all the lessons in advance. contact me to discuss. :)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk with new students or their parents(child lessons) to understand, what they are trying to accomplish playing percussion instruments or a drum set?(for fun, to learn to play with band at school or Church/read music/education or outside of school) What styles do you listen to(Pop, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Metal, Punk)? What styles would you like to learn? What equipment will you need to get started? A practice pad for less than $20 will get you started. I like to start with an overview of the snare drum(marching snare, reading music, rudiments) which, in my opinion is what it all revolves around. Then, I would like to assess ability(i.e. beginner, intermediate or advanced).
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years drum experience ranging from drum set to marching band(drum corps), drummer for Chorale Ensemble, received a scholarship to go to college for music performance for 2 years. Been in numerous bands ranging in style from Rock to Country to Jazz to lounge acts. Been teaching for many years.
