Jessica has been amazing at teaching my 5 year old son the violin. He’s been her student for almost four months. Other teachers wouldn’t accept children 5 years old but she had no problem taking him as a student and my son thoroughly enjoys it. She tailors her classes based on her students needs and her gentle yet authoritative approach makes learning violin easy and enjoyable. The classes have actually helped my son with focusing, motor skills, and listening in school. Hers classes are very hands on for both the student and the parent. She is flexible in the event if you have to cancel or reschedule. I highly recommend her to anyone who has a child interested in violin. I’m actually considering classes with her myself.

My daughter has been studying with Jessica for over a year now and it has been a great experience. From day one Jessica has worked on strengthening fundamentals and tailoring her instruction to my daughters specific needs; and most importantly, in a positive and thoughtful way.

    About this pro

Music has always been passion of mine since a very young age, so it was inevitable that it would end up being my career. Naturally, a love for teaching the wonders of music followed suit! I have taught at many different schools and worked with a wide variety of students over the past decade. Those schools include: The Baltimore School for the Arts: T.W.I.G.S Program as a student assistant, Thrive City Music Camp, Ellsworth Music, All About Music, Takelessons.com, International School of Music, Baltimore School of Music, and The McDonogh School. I am currently focused on developing my own Violin Studio out of my home. I strive to form a great rapport with my students and parents from the very first lesson. While I am a registered Suzuki violin teacher, I do not teach solely out of a certain method or "by the book"; I choose and mold every lesson depending on specific, strengths, weaknesses, etc. If you are a more advanced, serious player, more intensive lessons and repertoire will follow suit. I am comfortable teaching all ages, backgrounds and levels (beginning - advanced). Use of games make learning the violin fun and accessible for young children. Older and more advanced students receive a more technical, intensive and advanced approach. Coaching and weekly help on school assigned materials (orchestra/string class music and homework) Classical, Jazz, Gypsy and Fiddle styles are all introduced and studied to give students a rounded technique. Music theory (reading and understanding music) is incorporated in lessons. Repertoire is diverse and exciting. Various approaches for the visual or aural learner. Guaranteed to keep you or your child engaged and interested! They say, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life!" When it comes to teaching, truer words have never been spoken! I love working with each and every one of my students and their parents as they work towards their music goals. Whether it's acing school concert music, an audition, or striving to become the best musician they can be, I am truly grateful I am able to take part in my students journeys and help them reach their goals.
