FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'll often charge $25 - $30 depending on length and whether I'm traveling to the student's home or teaching out of my home. I have also taught couples and group lessons, which we may discuss if interested.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually respond to emails, text messages or phone calls within 24 hours and will assess the potential student's situation. Whether the student has an instrument or not, I'd be happy to help them get started on their journey and may offer input on which instrument they'll want to consider.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been classically trained in piano, have learned music theory in my elementary years and achieved the highest levels at a collegiate level. I've learned from many different teachers in various styles, attended the Berklee College of Music & Portland State University. I was introduced to an owner of a recording studio in downtown Portland whom I learned from over the course of the next few years. I ran a small studio myself, learned a fair amount about audio engineering, music production, and can offer a perspective from years of experience in the music industry, from simply learning an instrument to the desire to compose songs, perform in front of an audience or working in a studio setting.
