- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically assess a student’s skill set first. If they are complete beginners then, I start by teaching how to read music and play with good technique. We start with basic reading and advance from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started studying drums at the age of 10. I took both drum set and percussion lessons from two different teachers in high school. I marched in marching band, performed with numerous jazz and classical ensembles as well in school. I studied music at DePaul University. I also played with numerous music ensembles while I was in Chicago.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was born into this profession. My mom has been a professional musician and teacher for her entire life as well.
