Introduction: My name is Maria, and I'm from Spain. I have been teaching Spanish and English for 3 years now -- first in Spain, then in London and Vancouver and now in Salt Lake.
I am a certified Spanish teacher by Instituto Cervantes, and I am also a certified English teacher (TEFL).
The knowledge of both languages and my own experience in learning English make it easy to place myself on my students' shoes and be able to understand and meet their needs.
I have experience in teaching in language schools and also as a private tutor with students of all levels and ages, from beginners who have never studied a language before to advanced Spanish students who seek to improve their conversational skills and increase their vocabulary.

Maria is friendly, professional, energetic, patient and talented - all ideal qualities in a teacher. Her Spanish knowledge is comprehensive, built from both extensive schooling and years spent living in Spanish-speaking countries. She is a consummate professional, always prepared for lessons but also open to my input on what I want to learn. And her prices are extremely reasonable, making these lessons a great value. I've taken lessons from other Tutors on Thumbtack in SLC and found she is by far the best I have dealt with. During my time with Maria my Spanish has gone from 'barely there' to something I use nearly every day. There is no greater testament to her abilities than that! I would highly recommend her to anyone trying to learn Spanish from a beginners level to a fluent speaker. I cannot emphasize enough the value I have gained from her lessons and knowledge.

Maria is one of the best Spanish teachers I have had. She is very patient and easy to talk to. She is very reliable and always comes with different activities/games to make the class interesting. Highly recommended
