Introduction: I am a retired PGA Golf ProfessionaI. The last 15 years of my career were dedicated to golf instruction. I worked at Golf Galaxy, Joe Caruso's / Dead Solid Perfect Golf Center and "THE GOLF ACADEMY" at TPC San Antonio. I specialize in private instructions for golfers of all abilities, men and women. I have a strong belief in the fundamentals of the golf swing and I have unique ability to adapt if you require special training. I played competitive golf at a high level and that experience has carried over to my ability as an instructor. Especially the mental approach. The most rewarding aspect of my job is the satisfaction I get from a customer who has experienced a positive improvement in their game. It is not always easy; but, it can happen with hard work and practice. My base rate is $90 for 45-55 minutes. Most lesson will include the use of V-1 video analysis. A series of 3 lesson is discounted to $250.00, paid in advance. Lessons must be used within 90 days or they will expire.

The first one to take lessons from Wayne was my son. Then I started to take lessons from him and now my youngest daughter takes lessons from Wayne. He is very knowledgeable on the fundamentals of golf and really knows how to get your game into great shape. Not only does he utilize all his experiences with the game, to help you improve, but he also uses the latest technology. He has helped all of our games tremendously. On the more personal side, Wayne is just a great man to be around. He takes an intense interest in all of our games. He is continually checking in with me and my kids to see how things are going. He knows how to interact with his students at their level of play and experience. I have been playing the game for almost 30 years and every time I meet with Wayne I come away from the lesson with another nugget of knowledge that helps my game. Wayne started with my son (17) as he was just starting the game 3 years ago. He built his game on solid fundamentals that he has been able to build a continually improving game. Because of all my success with Wayne, I just started my 10-year-old daughter with him. She has just been playing for a few months and Wayne is building her foundation on the fundamentals. My daughter just loves taking lessons from Wayne. If you are looking for a golf instructor, I would highly recommend Wayne. He will definitely help you get better at the game of golf.

We are new to Texas and our elementary daughters were looking to try a new sport, golf. Wayne Mitchell couldn't have been a better instructor to work with. He took his time to not only explain and show them the fundamentals of golf, the equipment, and the need for practice, but he also took time to go over what they were learning with us as parents (who aren't golfers) so we could be involved too. We loved his detailed videos of lessons they took, which break down their form, etc. They would review it after the lesson and practice outside on their own time. He provides fun, caring, and educational lessons. He was also very flexible if our schedule had to change. Both our girls ended up getting their first set of clubs, love practicing, and look forward to another camp or lesson with Wayne.

My 10yr old son has been taking lessons from Coach Wayne for the past few years. Coach Wayne is extremely patient with his students and has really taught my son a lot about golf. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First of all I like to know what the clients goals or expectations are and how much they plan to practice. This gives me a good idea where to start. Then I will observe customer hit balls and record a video. Watch the video and make suggestions, work on improvements and suggest some drills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
40 years in the golf industry. Attended numerous seminars and continuing education to keep teaching skills sharp. Also had success as a SENIOR participant in Southern Texas PGA Senior Series where I won 8 events between 2002-2019. Last 14 years have been dedicated to golf instruction only.
