Introduction: I'm a retired High School Spanish and Community College Instructor. I have an MA in Spanish Literature from the University of Delaware and 29 years of experience teaching Spanish at all levels. I am at my best when tutoring High School, College and/or Adult continuing education students. I can help with Spanish in the areas of grammar review and explanation, vocabulary work, and speaking practice. I will tutor high school, college and adult education students.
I get incredible joy out of sharing the love I have of Spanish and the varying cultures of Spanish speaking countries with others! Since I am a total language dork and I love experiencing cultures that differ from my own, I find the intersection of language and culture absolutely fascinating! My language explanations come from having learned Spanish as a native English speaker and from my own need to find something about an unfamiliar concept that "makes sense" to me. Despite the years that I've been a fluent Spanish speaker, I still remember what it was like to "not get it" and, as a result, my students have always told me the way I explain things is super clear and helpful.
