Chris is a really good musician and teacher. Some musicians are so good they forget what it's like to 'not know'. Chris can be with you, where you're at even though he is a highly skilled player. His patience is very encouraging. It's inspiring to take lessons with him and to remember we all NEED music!Mar 3, 2016

Guitar Lessons (for adults)
I've been studying with Chris for a while. He knows his theory, and is able to explain how it applies to a given situation. And due to his extensive gigging experience, he has a lot of practical insights on playing. I've been playing a long time, but have learned things that I never knew. Highly recommended.Apr 24, 2017Verified
Chris has been awesome! I've been working with him for around six months and he's been really great. He has a ton of performance experience and that really comes through in how he references performances and recommends improvements. He's solid on theory and has a great knowledge of music to suggest songs. Highly recommend!Oct 2, 2016Verified
I recently inquired through Thumbtack to record a song for a promotional video my company is putting together. Chris responded immediately and was very prompt in all of our communication throughout the process. He was also flexible with his schedule and was able to meet with my team in short notice. When we arrived to his home studio, he was ready and raring to go with our track and was very patient since none of us our professionally trained singers. He provided us with a finished product in about a day and quickly turned around our suggested edits. He was a pleasure to work with and we hope to work with him again in the future.May 23, 2016Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing reflects the cost of living in San Francisco for an artist. It helps me to live in this expensive city and provide myself with the basic amenities on top of the rent of maintaining a recording studio. By hiring me, you are becoming a patron of the arts in San Francisco
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I usually chat with them for a few minutes to figure out what direction we should take together, and tailor my teaching or recording method to fit their needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have studied music and music theory for almost 2 decades, went to USF and received a music degree, studied recording at SF State, have worked in almost every major studio in the bay, and most recently did a songwriting residency at the Banff Centre.
