Trent was the first person I thought of, so I was thrilled when he agreed to officiate my wedding. A trusted friend, I know Trent to have great compassion and curiosity about the human condition. He makes authentic connections readily and is a thoughtful observer of life and people by nature. His grace permeates the room and helps to put everyone at ease. Our beachfront wedding had an unexpected guest, Hurricane Hannah! Trent handled the ceremony and all of the last-minute changes and stresses with aplomb. After guests braved travels in the rain and wind Trent brought peace and patience to the ceremony and set a tone of love and wonderment that seemed to override the storm and all that it brought. My grandmother still swoons when I mention his name. I can't recommend him strongly enough.

An out of body experience is an understatement. Trent Thornley was incredible. A week before our wedding the officiant who was scheduled to marry us had a family emergence, so we were in a pretty stressful bind. Trent was referred to us from a dear friend who works with Trent. Within 30 minutes Trent had agreed to skype with us and we connected with him as a person instantly. He was so accommodating and luckily he was available for the very next weekend. Not only did he agree to be our officiant, so last minute, but he was able to travel to our wedding in Oregon from San Francisco (of course we bought his flight and hotel!).
We sent him our ideas for the ceremony i.e. vows, readings, prayer, etc. and before the wedding he sat with each of us separately and then together to make sure we were all on the same page - he was our spiritual guide and professional facilitator. He had this wonderful ability to connect with us, make us feel supported and also ease our nervous and stressful energy. And I even asked him, "am I missing anything in my vows that might get me into trouble" and to that he assured me I covered all my bases and helped me laugh that off. :)
Once we walked down the aisle and joined hands at the alter, the energy was electric and Trent went to work. He opened with a wonderful ice breaker and got the attendees, engaged, present and participating. He lead our ceremony like a magician. I mean, he may as well have had on a wizard hat (which would have totally worked because we are a geeky fantasy and sci-fi couple - and even played the Star Wars theme song during our procession)!! Which Trent totally supported.
We also asked Trent to follow our general guidelines but to bring in his own knowledge, passion and spiritual experiences in Catholicism and Buddhism, which he did beautifully.
After the ceremony, we insisted Trent stay and join the party because he was an instant friend and we couldn't bare to let his beautiful energy leave the party - and he did!
If you are looking for a compassionate, open-minded, uplifting, intelligent, commanding, respectful, loving minister/reverend/officiant/wizard person to marry you, then I highly recommend Trent Thornley!
