Introduction: I teach people how to improve at playing the violin! I have had 10 years of experience performing as a professional violinist in an SF based string quartet, Friction Quartet. With this group I have played from the stages of Carnegie Hall to the local bars of SF. I have been lucky to play all kinds of different music throughout my career including classical, pop, jazz and fiddle. I teach all age groups and experience levels. I have taught university, high-school and middle school level student and recently completed a faculty position at the Interlochen Academy of Arts. With my expert advice and hands on instruction I will mentor you in how to bring your playing to the next level.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson I will get to know you and what you are looking for in violin lessons. I will formulate a plan based on your specific needs. Each student is different which necessitates a variety of approaches. One thing I always focus on is teaching good fundamental technique so that playing what you want to play becomes easier over time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. (2009-2013) I have performed around the world for 7 years with an internationally recognized string quartet, Friction Quartet. (2011-current)
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began teaching when I began my conservatory training in 2009. I have always been passionate about passing on my knowledge to other who love this instrument. Additionally the act of explaining your art and expertise is a great way to connect to others.
