Introduction: I provide one on one privates, group privates, and group dance classes to all levels of dancers. I enjoy working with beginners and sharing my love for dance with them. Dance is a universal language that anyone can relate to. Let me help you learn, connect and love this language as much as I do. Whether you are looking to learn to dance for your wedding or just wanting to start a new hobby, I will guide you in every step of the way. Not only do I teach dance, I also can help you create choreography for a special event like a wedding or quinceanera. We can collaborate together to make something truly special. I am truly passionate about dance and teaching. It is the most rewarding feeling to see my students grow and have that "Ah ha!" moment when they finally get the right step.

Under her tutelage, I have learned zouk, a Brazilian social dance and feel confident enough to dance on the social dance floor with it even after a month of her instruction. I still do and am always learning. She's funny and if you're tired, her hyperness and positive energy will wake you up and make you smile. Glad I had her for my first instructor in this style of social dance.

Marissa is a lovely and enthusiastic dance professional/teacher! She focuses on technique and truly explains the ins and outs of form and how/why every move is connected. She has a strong foundation in many forms of dance, including Zouk, Salsa, Bachata and more. It's been a pleasure learning Brazilian Zouk from her, and I highly recommend her!

Marissa is my "Mama Zouk." She was the instructor for the ISDC Beginner Zouk Team that I was in as well as the instructor for all of the Zouk workshops that I have attended in Los Angeles. Without her I would not have met Zouk, and without experiencing the joy of Zouk dancing in L.A. I would not be taking Zouk classes miles and miles away in another state. I could not be any more grateful for the her fire to pass down the love for Zouk dancing to me. She really helped me see the importance of refinement, the details that are involved in each movement. Learning under her I have truly come to see how passionate she is about dance and how much respect she has for the art of it. Marissa truly puts so much love and energy into teaching and when you are learning under her you can feel that she wants you to feel the joy of dancing as she herself feels. If you want an instructor who truly cares for the future of dance then I guarantee you will make the right decision working with her. As an individual she is very fun and open but what makes her so well rounded as a dance instructor is that she is very professional when business is in discussion: a quality that only a mature individual develops.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For privates I will charge $60 per hour per person. If purchasing multiple privates a bundle discount can be arranged. Group Classes would be a standard rate of $60 per hour. Choreography for special events would range depending on the job. $100-250
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For private and group private classes I discuss what my clients needs are as well as their expectations of what they want to get out my classes. From there I can customize a program suitable for each dancer and their level. For group classes I have my own lesson plan based on if I will be teaching a beginning, intermediate, or advanced class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a state certified dance teacher through the dance program at Mt. San Antonio College. I am also certified Zouk and Kizomba teacher through ISDC (Ivo and Shani Dance Company). I have my Zumba Fitness instructor certification as well.
