The Academy Cover Band

Introduction: The Academy is a band based out of Santa Barbara founded by Jake and Gus Detar of Detar Music. The band is comprised of some of the best studio musicians residing in the Northern Los Angeles area. The Academy does all styles of music and tailors musical sets to the clients needs. Our varied song list ranges from Jazz to Pop to Rock and even includes some original songs. The Academy's normal lineup consists of 4 vocalists (one Lead and 3 backups), guitar, bass, keyboards, brass section and drums. All of our musicians are highly trained professionals and deliver incredible performances no matter how big or small the venue. Our shows are very high energy and tight making it nearly impossible for the audience to not dance. The Academy caters to weddings, corporate events and private parties.
