Introduction: I'm Steve, the owner of Eden's Best Cat Sitting services. I service the South Bay Area including San Jose, Willow Glen, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Mountain View, Milpitas, Campbell, Alviso, and Los Altos. I love meeting new cats. I am able to quickly build relationships with cats that allows for both of us to enjoy each other's company. I have successfully worked with shy cats, energetic cats, indoor only cats, indoor/outdoor cats, outdoor cats, cats with medical needs, and everything in between. I take a three pronged approach to cat sitting: taking care of the cats, taking care of the home, and taking care of the homeowner - which is why I offer two free consultations: 15-minutes by phone and 30-minutes in home to better understand how I can help you maintain a happy home for you and your cat. These consultations also ensure that we all (me, you, and the cats) have trust in each other before the "staycation" begins. I am very conscientious of all cats individual needs. I enjoy getting to know each cat and learning how they like to play and engage with others. I highly recommend Eden's Best. Steve is a total pro. He was responsive, thoughtful, and thorough when meeting and establishing visitation parameters. The paperwork all made sense and gave me full confidence my cats where in good hands and that all contingencies were accounted for. This is not the fly-by-night, willy-nilly approach I've had with other sitters. The sittings were just as professional. While I was out (for 3 full weeks!), service was regular and punctual. After each visit, I got email and pictures letting me know everything was fine with the cats. When I got home, I found a stack of report cards showing more detailed behavior and demeanor of our cats at each visit. As I'm sure you can imagine, it was such a wonderful relief having such a conscientious professional looking after my cats.

Steve was awesome - your cat will be in good care. When I returned from our 1.5 wk trip, our cat was happy. What we needed was someone to give our cat attention, give her food, and to play with her. All of this was met, I am relieved! If Steve is available, we will ask him again to take care of our cat when we are away.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have 3 standard packages available: Quick Visit ($25) - basic care covered (food, water, litter) Standard Visit ($30) - comfort and care for 2 cats (basic + time to socialize and play) Extended visit ($60) - recommended for 4+ cats who need lots of attention and care
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
3 Steps: 1) Scheduling: We confirm our schedules work 2) Meet & Greet: I visit your home to introduce myself to you, your family, and of course, your cats. At this meeting we will go through the cat sitting agreement, legal forms, details of care, location of key items (litter boxes, food, etc.), pick up a key, pay the deposit (50% of first "staycation"), and discuss any questions you may have. 3) "Staycation:" You travel and I care for your cats. The balance of your account is left on the counter for me to pick up while I care for your cats. I will visit according to our schedule and complete a Cat Care Report Card each day as well as text you updates & photos of your cats if you like.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been a cat parent and care giver for 30+ years. I have long been the go-to guy for family and friends to care for their animals when they are traveling. In fact, it is those family members and friends that encouraged me to start Eden's Best Cat Sitting. It is a very rewarding experience to get to play with multiple cat families each day. :)
