- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Tutorial: Free 15-min trial lesson In the free trial session, we will do a few quick tests to gauge your stage, and start working on your personal learning plan based on your goals. Usually l focus on listening and speaking in my tutorials, but can adjust based on your need. For reference, I put my students in four learning stages: 1. Early Stage/Pre-comprehension Stage 2. Upping the Ante 3. Getting Serious 4. Scaling Everest Translation: I'll send you my translation samples for your review first
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Translation & Interpretation I am a native Mandarin speaker. My experience in interpretation and translation include: - Currently working in technology scouting and help with real-time interpretation at face-to-face meetings/conference calls as well as technical documents translation. Technical areas of focus are IoT, AI, sensors, electrical engineering, functional materials etc. - Real-time Chinese to English interpretation for a Chinese documentary director when he visited Yale and gave a presentation to a 200-people audience - Worked at Yale Journal of Industrial Ecology as a student editor for a year to translate academic papers into Chinese - Helped with marketing for a top management consulting firm to translate business strategy insights articles into Chinese Tutorial I worked as a Chinese Teaching Assistant at graduate school for a year and enjoyed helping my students understand different perspectives of the Chinese language. Leveraging my background in management consulting, I also provide one-on-one business Chinese tutorial.
