I needed to brush up on my Spanish for a series of important business meetings and a colleague recommended Leo to me. Working with him was excellent. He was able to customize lessons to exactly the topics and vocabulary/phrases that would be useful for me specifically. He also created a series of practice conversations for us to go through and he was extremely helpful with correcting my pronunciations and accent. He is patient but also creates challenging lessons so that I really felt that I was learning the language and not just picking up a few phrases that I would forget later on. Professional, easygoing and best of all, effective as a Spanish teacher. He even helped me formalize some translations of documents that I needed. I would not hesitate to recommend Leos services to anyone.

I was looking for a tutor to help me kick-start my goal to become comfortable speaking Spanish again. I haven't spoken Spanish in over a decade and now I need to for business reasons. I felt I needed to become confident in my abilities again and learn a new set of vocabulary to go with my updated job requirements. When I rather across Mr. Somer's skill set, I knew he was the man for the job. After some preliminary discussions on my goals, he set to work. His attention to detail, knowledge, approachability and overall dedication to my goals were amazing. He knew when to be strict, but was also flexible to my needs and adjusted his lesson plans accordingly so that I could get the most out of the sessions. I was amazed to have found someone of his professional caliber online; I will be recommending his services to my other co-workers as well.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first class is free. We make introductions, discuss objectives, times and approach. I customize my classes according to my students' needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and graduated from high school in Miami. I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and have traveled extensively throughout Latin America. I have a degree in Communication with a minor in Journalism, and have taught both Spanish and English for the past 10 years.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love language, and enjoy teaching it very much. I first taught Spanish to fellow travelers in a youth hostel and haven't stopped ever since!
